NEWARK. Police are on high alert around the harbor after an Egyptian native made it into New York Harbor by hiding as a stowaway, it was just revealed yesterday. The New York Post reported that Asem Ellbahnsany Haroom, 26, snuck into Port Newark and was hiding in an empty warehouse near the waterfront when police found him in January.
Haroom had reportedly fought against U.S. forces in Iraq. Police said they were concerned because al Qaeda described blowing up oil refineries, such as those near Port Newark.
