It’s funny to think that at one point, names like Shirley and Melvin were run of the mill names. In 40 years, will the popular names of today, like Jennifer and Tom, be reduced to “old people names”? Come 2055 there will be a lot of Grandma Imogens and Grandpa Jacksons — Imogen and Jackson were the top baby names of 2014. Interestingly, this year, Jackson is still the most popular boys’ name, but Imogen is no where on the top 10. Related: The top 100 baby names of 2014
