The Royal decor frenzy

It’s only one week away from the Royal wedding and the world has all eyes focused on Britain.

It’s only natural that home decorating fanatics cash in and do a little royal decorating to celebrate this historical soiree.

Forget about the stodgy gold-rimmed teapots and dollar bin tea towels, here’s a list of fabulous British-inspired decorating accessories that are sure to turn your house into a royal celebration of its own.

It’s always nice to have a reminder of the Royal wedding. I’m not quite sure what happened to the porcelain platter of Charles and Diana I purchased for their wedding. Most likely ended up in a yard sale many moons ago.

This time around I might buy something trendy that I’ll be proud enough to display.

The Big Ben Clock from Urban Barn ($80) is four-feet tall and would look fabulous hung on the small wall in the foyer.

Never to be late and always in style!

I’m thinking a large printed wallpaper would look great hung inside my walk-in closet for impact. The illusion of having many crowns just might start a few royal rumours amongst those who visit.

In terms of entertaining, I’m thinking of waking up early and having a royal brunch at the house. Serving things like Cream of Earl Grey Tea from David’s Tea in my new Keep Calm mugs from keepcalmandcarryon.ca and serving up a custom English Garden Wedding ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins will add a punch of British whimsy to the occasion.

Am I that crazy about the Royals? I am considering painting my small den a vibrant purple and Royal Throne P5149-63 from Para Paints is on the top of my list!

Teamed with some dark brown wood furniture, a charcoal grey upholstered sofa and a funky Union Jack wall plaque from Urban Outfitters, and I’ll achieve a room handsome enough to attract any Prince.
