Usher kicked off the semifinals performing his new hit single “Good Kisser,” which had the other coaches on their feet. If anyone was questioning whether Usher still had it, that performance pretty much settled all doubts.
A few weeks ago, Blake Shelton thought it would be funny to give out Adam Levine’s cellphone number via Twitter. Levine, finding the prank not so comical, promised to get Shelton back, and on Monday night’s show he did. Levine had the show stream live footage of Shelton’s ruby red truck parked just outside the studio where two loader construction trucks dropped cow manure on Shelton’s baby. Let’s hope these two can call it even.
It seems Adam’s new look is rubbing off on his team. Kat Perkins and Christina Grimmie gave tribute to their coach by sporting new blonde highlights.

Kat Perkins (Team Adam) surprised America with her song choices for the night, in a good way. The rockstar nanny performed her first pop song with Sia’s “Chandelier,” giving a Gaga-esque performance. Kat then dedicated Demi Lovato’s “Let It Go” from the movie “Frozen” to the children she cares for.
Kristen Merlin (Team Shakira) dedicated Miranda Lambert’s “Gunpowder and Lead” to her hometown. She gave a high-energy performance and received plenty of praise from coach Shakira. Kristen then gave a heartfelt rendition of Jewel’s “Foolish Games.”
Josh Kaufman (Team Usher) dedicated John Legend’s “All of Me” to his wife and kids. Although Kaufman didn’t utilize the stage at all, he really milked the emotion. Josh later gave an upbeat performance to OneRepublic’s new song “Love Runs Out.”
“It’s like he has the song by the throat,” explained Blake Shelton.
Jake Worthington (Team Blake) dedicated Waylon Jennings’ “Good Ol’ Boys” to his friends back home. His performance left Usher “sold on country music.” Jake later performed his first pop song on the show with Bryan Adams’ “Heaven.” He took a risk by stripping the song down, especially after complications with his throat, but was able to push through it and gave a vocally solid performance.
Christina Grimmie (Team Adam) also took a risk performing Imogen Heap’s “Hide and Seek.” As Grimmie sat on the stage the first half of the performance, her voice blended in with the background singers’, making it difficult for the audience to connect. By the time she stood to hit a few big notes, the song was over. Coach Adam defended Grimmie, saying, “We’re not here to sing karaoke.” (Although it sure sounded that way). Christina was then able to recover by giving America a big performance the way we know she can. She dedicated Fun’s “Some Nights” to her friends in New Jersey. It was definitely a fun performance, leaving behind hundreds of balloons as proof.
