The Word: Lindsay Lohan off to a bad start

Less than 24 hours after being taken into custody for failing to perform her court-ordered community service, Lindsay Lohan managed to show up late to her new gig at the L.A. County Morgue and was turned away.

Not that it was her fault, of course. In a statement to TMZ, the sometimes-actress’ publicist explained that she was 40 minutes late Thursday morning due to “a combination of not knowing what entrance to go through and confusion caused by the media waiting for her arrival.”

The girl’s had a tough couple years. And if today goes “well,” she’ll be cleaning autopsy tables. So we’re willing to ignore that little “blame the media” dig for now. But just a warning, Linds: We’re fresh out of material on you, and these “Lindsay Lohan was late to the morgue” jokes are writing themselves over here. Play nice.

No hard feelings from Jill Zarin

Although her job for four years was essentially to gossip and manufacture drama on “The Real Housewives of New York,” ex-cast member Jill Zarin was all air kisses when discussing the show with Parade.com: “I had a four-year run on a very successful show. And it’s just now starting to air in Europe. I get about 50 e-mails a day from the U.K., Germany, Israel and Australia — we’re all over the world. The show will continue — good or bad — to live on in reruns on Bravo and any other network.”

That’s right: worldwide undead “Real Housewives.” The end, friends, is certainly near.

Kellan Lutz isn’t gay, ladies — he’s just not that into you

“I’ve heard that people think I’m gay. I’ve heard it all,” the actor tells the Advocate. “See, I don’t really go after girls. Most of the girlfriends I’ve had have come after me. So it’s really funny when girls get offended because I don’t hit on them. They will transform their insecurity into, ‘Oh, that makes sense, because I heard you’re into guys and have a boyfriend.’ I’m like, ‘Seriously? That’s your tactic to get me to like you?’”

No, Kellan. I opted for a super creepy caption-writing spree when “Twilight:?New Moon” came out. Which, I’d like to point out, was also suspiciously unsuccessful.
