This is Alton Brown’s favorite restaurant in Boston

Alton Brown

Alton Brown is taking his culinary skills on the road when he kicks off his “Eat Your Science” tour later this fall.

The Food Network star is travelling across the country to give fans a deeper understanding of what goes into their meals, while providing plenty of fun at this live, interactive show. In addition to food experiments and demonstrations, attendees can expect music, comedy, puppets and more from the “Good Eats” and “Cutthroat Kitchen” host.

From cheap eats to fine dining, Brown is once again asking fans to send him suggestions for where he should grab some grub while he’s town for his latest live tour using the hashtag #ABRoadeats.

“We only go where the fans tell us to go,” Brown tells Metro. “The only thing that’s kind of a drag about it is that, if I find a place that I really like, when I go back, I’m not supposed to go there again, I’m supposed to find some place new. But sometimes, I can’t stand it.”

Whether his Bay State fans tell him to or not, expect Brown to stop by this local hotspot when he performs at the Wang Theatre in Boston on Oct. 28.

“The No. 1 place that I love in Boston – and it’s tiny and I would imagine a lot of folks that live there don’t even know about it – is Gene’s Chinese Flatbread Cafe,” Brown says. “They do an authentic, Xi’an-style hand-pulled noodles.”

The TV personality and food fanatic says that the Downtown Crossing restaurant’s “slippery” and “spicy” noodles are “freaking amazing” and make for the perfect meal to munch on in the winter time.

“There’s a lot of great food in Boston, but that was the discovery that I made last time that fan’s turned me onto that was really, really surprising and remarkable,” Brown says. “To be honest, I haven’t found anything else like it, really, in the United States.”
