Gastronomes of Boston, get ready to step into your television as the cast members of “America’s Test Kitchen,” as well as over 30 local chefs and restaurants, will come to you live at Boston Eats later this year. The two-day festival in October will offer different culinary opportunities for those fascinated with cooking, eating and any combination of the two.
"For 25 years, America's Test Kitchen (ATK) has been teaching, inspiring and entertaining millions of home cooks through our television shows, magazines, cookbooks and websites,” said CEO David Nussbaum in a statement. “Our first-ever food festival is a unique chance for fans to visit our new test kitchen, to hang out with our talented cast, and taste the very best food from Boston's very best restaurants.”
The fun will kick off on the first evening at the Seaport’s Innovation and Design Building with the “Taste of Innovation” cooking demonstration. Co-hosts Julia Collin Davison and Bridget Lancaster will lead the event as different test cooks from the show like Dan Souza and Becky Hays team up with chefs from around the Hub to create “two unexpected and innovative recipes” based off of a mystery, New England staple. Participating chefs include Jeremy Sewall from Les Sablons, Jody Adams of TRADE and Porto, Wil Gilson of Puritan & Co. as well as several others.

Gourmands more interested in enjoying the finished products should gear up for the main event, Boston Eats, the next afternoon. A few of the restaurants attending are Juliet, The Gallows, Bistro du Midi and SRV in addition to dozens more. Guests can also expect panels, book signings and other cooking demonstrations throughout. The fest will also feature an opportunity called “Backstage ATK,” where you can tour the brand new ATK facilities and TV sets on top of being able to cook with the entire cast of the show.
More celebrity chef appearances and restaurant participants will be announced over the coming weeks on the event website.
