Surrender to the Loews Boston Hotel’s ‘House Arrest’ package

Loews Boston

For those who like their luxury spiked with a little adventure, the Loews Boston Hotel is letting guests stay under house arrest in what used to be the Boston Police Headquarters.

The hotel, which is the current occupant of the site, is offering what it calls the “House Arrest” package through March 31, 2018. It’s a deal so good guests will feel they must have committed a crime.

Your cell will be one of Loews Boston’s luxurious guest rooms, which offers prime views of the charming Back Bay area. Instead of being greeted by a bright orange jumpsuit, Loews treats its inmates to a charcuterie board loaded with Italian meats and grilled bread.

While guests are free to explore Boston, it’s not unlikely that those who purchase the package will voluntary lock themselves in at the luxury hotel.  The package comes with a $150 food and beverage credit, usable at the Precinct Kitchen + Bar, which prides itself on Boston favorites like lobster rolls, clambakes and Boston cream pies. Also included is a complimentary in-room movie and free valet parking for one vehicle throughout the stay.

This isn’t the first time Loews Hotel has made a cheeky homage to the building’s past life in law enforcement. Since July 12, pop-up speakeasy The Traveller Bar has been serving artisan cocktails at the Loews Hotel.

The bar is filled with vintage touches, like the first edition of the oldest-ever cocktail recipe book, in order for guests to feel like they’re downing bootlegged gin. The Traveller Bar is leaving Friday August 4, so you only have a couple more days to drink up, prohibition-style.

Who says law breaking couldn’t be luxurious?
