Party all night long at MFA Late Nites

MFA Late Nites

Spend a night partying at the museum when MFA Late Nites debuts later this fall.

Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts is ready to launch its new after-hours series on Friday, Oct. 13, which will feature an evening of food, drinks, live music and more. In addition to all the fun, guests will receive a sneak peek at Lineage of Eccentrics, a new exhibit dedicated to Japanese artist Takashi Murakami.

From 8 p.m. to 2 a.m., attendees will get the chance to rock out to music by DJ YVNG PAVL, Gucci Vuitton, Riobamba, Ed Balloon, Durkin and The Blade Runners, as well as check out a performance by Urbanity Dance. Local hip-hop artists will throw down during a three-round, slam poetry-style competition too.

MFA Late Nites will also feature a chef showdown at the museum’s glass-enclosed Shapiro Family Courtyard. Five chefs will give their takes on Japanese street food, which guests can try before voting on a winner. The small plates will be available for $7 each, or $30 for all five.

After filling up on Japanese cuisine, guests can check out the Moonlight Beer Garden in the Calderwood Courtyard. From 8 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., attendees will be able to sip on Sapporo, Asashi and various local brews as they munch on special soft pretezels. Beer, wine and a selection of nonalcoholic drinks will also be available at the Taste Café, located near the Rap Slam competition.

Advance tickets to MFA Late Nites are $13 each. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $20 on Oct. 13, however, they will only be available on a first come, first served basis.

If you can’t make it to this month’s after-hours event, another MFA Late Nites installment is planned for March 3, 2018.
