This is the show that every Mad Men fan needs to watch next

Matthew Weiner, Christina Hendricks, and Jon Hamm

It has been over two years since “Mad Men” came to an end, and television still hasn’t come close to filling its void. Matthew Weiner has now seemingly taken it upon himself to do just that as the first details for his new show “The Romanoffs” have revealed that it’s basically going to be a “Mad Men” reunion.

Not that we’re complaining, because Matthew Weiner has hired several of the writers and producers that he previously worked with on “Mad Men” to bring “The Romanoffs” to life. This includes executive producer and writer Semi Chellas, co-executive producer Blake McCormick and Andre Jacquemetton and Maria Jacquemetton as consulting producers and writers.

Further executive producers will come in the shape of Kriss Turner Towner and Kathy Ciric, while Matthew Weiner has also sought the help of director of photography Chris Manley, production designers Henry Dunn and Christopher Brown, as well as Theresa Rivers and Lana Horochowski to oversee the hair and makeup on the show.

There’s more, too, as “Mad Men’s” lauded costume designer Janie Bryant will work in conjunction with Wendy Chuck on the attire, and the casting duo of Carrie Audino and Laura Schiff will help Weiner find his ensemble. It has already been confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter that Matthew Weiner has cast Christina Hendricks and John Slattery of “Mad Men” in “The Romanoffs,” and they’ll be joined by Isabelle Huppert, Marthe Keller, Jack Huston and Amanda Peet.

“The Romanoffs” is set across numerous places on Earth, and it focuses the separate stories of individuals that are convinced they’re descendants of the Russian royal family. Matthew Weiner has been given plenty of money to work his magic on the show, too, as Amazon haa provided a $50 million budget for the eight episodes. We’ll get to see what he can muster with this money when “The Romanoffs” is released on Amazon in 2018.
