A father and son from Winchester and a Revere woman will be formally charged Monday for their alleged roles in a hit-and-run crash that killed two people.
Michael S. Tranchita, Jr., 33, is accused of leaving the scene of a death, conspiracy, and 2 counts of misleading a potential witness, according to the Esssex District Attorney’s office.
His father, Michael S. Tranchita, Sr., 55, faces charges of conspiracy, misleading a potential witness, and misleading an investigator. Lisa Cutting, 39, is charged with conspiracy, misleading an investigator and accessory after the fact.
A grand jury indicted the trio at the end of December, nearly six years after a crash that killed two pedestrians.
Investigators say Tina Tello and Christopher Zullo were hit by a car while trying to cross Route 1 in Saugus on Jan. 5, 2007. Tello was pronounced dead at the scene; Zullo died two days later at Mass. General Hospital.
