Tito Jackson elected as Hub’s next city councilor for District 7

Tito Jackson will be the next city councilor.

Jackson won yesterday’s District 7 special election with 82 percent of the vote with all precincts reporting results, according to city election results.

Roughly 3,400 of 41,116 registered voters cast ballots.

Jackson, a former political director for Gov. Deval Patrick, replaces convicted felon Chuck Turner, who is slated to report to federal prison next week for corruption.

Jackson’s opponent, Cornell Mills, earned 16 percent.

District 7 includes Roxbury and parts of Dorchester, Fenway and the South End.
