Toast to Thanksgiving with these holiday-evoking cocktail recipes

If you want to go beyond offering wine, beer or bubbly to your Thanksgiving guests, we suggest these festive cocktails by Brooklyn-based mixologist Katie Stipe of Last Call Consulting.

Alsatian Spritz

Warming spirit of apple brandy and notes of cinnamon spice with an elegant effervescence of the Lucien Albrecht Crémant d’Alsace Brut, this cocktail is perfect for Thanksgiving because it has so many of the same flavors and spices.

1 ounce apple brandy (Lairds American apple brandy or Calvados)
0.25 ounce maple syrup
1 dash aromatic bitters
3 ounces Lucien Albrecht Crémant d’Alsace Brut

Stir all ingredients and strain into coupe glass or over ice in a rocks glass.Top with Lucien Albrecht Crémant d’Alsace Brut.Garnish with freshly grated cinnamon or cinnamon stick and apple slice.

Autumn Cobbler

This is another cocktail that perfectly captures the Thanksgiving mood with flavors of spice and fruit. The dry sherry is an excellent touch as it adds a nutty flavor to the cocktail.

1 orange
0.5 ounce simple syrup
2 ounces Amontillado sherry
3 ounces Jaillance Clairette de Die
Cinnamon sticks

Muddle two orange slices in simple syrup, then add dry sherry. Dry shake ingredients and strain over crushed ice in a Collins glass. Top off with Jaillance Clairette de Die. Finish with freshly grated cinnamon and garnish with an orange slice and cinnamon stick.
