An application has been filed with the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board to up toll fees on Halifax’s two harbour bridges.
The application, filed by the Halifax-Dartmouth Bridge Commission, asks for an increase of 25 cents for each cash customer, bringing the total up to $1 per use of the bridge. MACPASS users would see a slightly smaller increase of 20 cents, up to 80 cents per trip.
If approved, the changes would come into effect early next year.
HDBC requested a toll increase in 1992, when the toll was upped to 75 cents.
