Just two weeks to go before the election, the Las Vegas Review-Journal is the first major newspaper to endorse Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

The daily newspaper, which has a circulation of 200,000, sees Trump as the answer to American “frustration and disillusionment today with the political institutions that govern the nation,” CNN reported.

Trump tweeted his thanks to the paper Sunday after the endorsement was published. “Thank you Las Vegas Review Journal,” he wrote.

Up until this point, major U.S. newspapers have refused to back the billionaire businessman. Several traditionally right leaning newspapers who endorsed former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney in 2012 chose to side with Hillary Clinton, including the Houston Chronicle, the Dallas Morning News and the Arizona Republic.

The Boston Herald decried all presidential candidates in its Oct. 20 editorial, “None of the above for president.”

The editorial board bashed Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton for her lack of transparency and constant scandals. The board denounced Trump for his temper tantrums, narcissism and lack of in-depth policy proposals.

“So these are our choices — which is why for the first time in decades the Boston Herald will not make an endorsement in the presidential contest. We urge our readers to look deep into their own consciences — as we will all have to do — and do the best they can,” the editorial states.

The Boston Globe “enthusiastically” endorsed Clinton in its Oct. 8 editorial.

“Only one candidate on the ballot Nov. 8 belongs anywhere near the White House, and it’s Hillary Clinton,” the paper wrote.
