Today’s special: knuckle sandwich.
A rabid Donald Trump supporter socked a woman in the face at a Brooklyn eatery on Saturday for expressing opposing political views, the restaurant manager told Metro.
The suspect and his wife were dining atFrench bistro Bar Tabac in Boerum Hill when they overheard something displeasing about Donald Trump, andstarted to argue with another woman in the completely full restaurant around 6:00 p.m., manager Jonas Leon, 27, said.
“We were having a great time laughing and expressing ourselves and our disgust that Trump was elected,” the woman, who did not provide her name, told the New York Daily News. “It was loud in the restaurant so it’s not like we were causing a ruckus.”
The couple askedthe staff to move the woman, who the managersaid is a regular customer and is in her late 40s. Instead they moved the couple to a different table and gave them some free food and drinks.
“The guy told me that if I was a man he’d take me outside and beat me in the street. My friend said, ‘Hey were just talking here!’” the victim said. “The staff moved them to another table but they continued to glare at us.”
The couple, who expressed to the manager that they were “really, really angry” stormed out. But the man re-entered moments later and punched the woman with a closed fist right in the face.
“I was standing right behind him and I wanted to try to grab him but he punched her so fast,” Leon said. “He was very aggressive to me.”
The woman declined medical attention but was reportedly in pain the next day.
After the punch, the man, described to be in his early 40s, fled on foot.
NYPD confirmed the punch, which was filed as harassment.
