The new Sports Illustrated cover for this week features notable sports figures and athletes locking arms with a banner that reads, “A nation divided, sports united.”
The cover features 10 prominent figures who have all publically expressed their political views including NBA stars LeBron James, Stephen Curry, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shahid Khan and NBA head coach Steve Kerr.
The cover story for the new issue of Sports Illustrated will focus on the recent protests taking place at NFL games and other sporting events and how different people in the sports world have reacted to comments made by the president, who recently called for NFL owners to “fire” players for taking a knew during the National Anthem.
The new Sports Illustrated cover has received comments from many on social media since the magazine unveiled the cover Tuesday. Some people have praised the magazine for its efforts to show unity, while many others are criticizing Sports Illustrated to not include former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick and include NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

Uhh I think you accidentally put a picture of Roger Goodell where you meant to put Kaepernick. Might want to fix that before you go to print

Where’s Colin Kaepernick? You know, the one who started it all?! Nice try SI. You still failed.
