Two gunned down on B’way may have been witnesses

Two potential witnesses to Coney Island murders were gunned down on East 19th Street yesterday in what reports described as a possible execution-style killing.

Rashawn Washington, 26, and Terrance Serrano, 22, had just left trendy nightclub Roam and were sitting in an SUV a block away on East 19th Street between Park Avenue and Broadway when they were shot.

Nearby security cameras filmed two men jumping from a dark sedan and heading toward the SUV. The shots, fired into both the driver’s and passenger’s side of the SUV, rang out around 3:45 a.m. The footage did not capture the shooting itself.

“It was a clear execution,” a Verizon worker who heard the shots and saw the shot up silver SUV told the Daily News.

The two were “potential witnesses” in two separate murder cases, Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said. “They had not come forward,” he said.

The New York Post reported Washington may have witnessed the stray bullet killing of Anna Sermon, 87, on Aug. 2, 2009, and Serrano the murder of his brother, Micuan Serrano, 19, on July 26, 2009.

Detectives were also looking into whether the shootings stemmed from an unrelated fight inside the club.

Each man had a lengthy arrest record for drug and gun charges, according to reports.
