WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. House of Representatives Democrats on Monday filed legislation to fund the government through Dec. 11 and avoid a possible shutdown when the money would otherwise run out at the end of September, the chairwoman of the appropriations committee, Representative Nita Lowey, announced.

The legislation does not include $21.1 billion the White House sought to replenish the Commodity Credit Corporation, a program to stabilize farm incomes, a House Democratic aide said. A vote on the bill is expected this week, possibly Tuesday, in the House, which has a Democratic majority.
