WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The largest U.S. federal employee union said on Thursday it expects the Biden administration to negotiate over a new planned government employee vaccine mandate before putting in place.
“We expect to bargain over this change prior to implementation,” said the American Federation of Government Employees, which represents 700,000 workers in the federal and District of Columbia governments. “Changes like this should be negotiated with our bargaining units where appropriate.”
President Joe Biden plans to sign an executive order on Thursday mandating vaccines for government employees and contractors, Reuters reported, citing a source familiar.
