Unknown shooter targets driver in broad daylight on Queens street: NYPD

A man in a blue work helmet and yellow jacket shot another man as he was walking to his car in Long Island City Monday afternoon, police said.

The incident happened around 1:30 p.m. on 9th Street near 38th Avenue.

As the 32-year-old victim approached his vehicle, the unknown suspect came up to him and asked him to lay on the ground, cops said. That’s when he took out a gun and shot the victim in his left arm before fleeing.

The victim was taken to NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in stable condition.

Police describe the suspect as a black male, about 40 to 45 years old and 5 feet 7 inches tall. In addition to the blue work helmet and yellow jacket, the suspect was also wearing black clothing at the time of the shooting.
