Use exercise to relax

Kim Duess finds her inner rhythm at her special meditation spot.

Technology is a wonderful thing. It makes life easier for us and helps us to be more efficient. Automobiles, cellphones and computers are just a few of these modern day conveniences that help us do things faster so we can do more in a day, theoretically.

I have no problem with technology, however, if you are like me and look at most people today and see all the excess baggage they are carrying around on their bodies then this technology is not making us better but rather more useless and inefficient. If most of the bodies I see out there were automobiles they would be rusted out pieces of scrap ready for the crusher.

Many people these days are rushing around like chickens with their heads cut off. Are they really that busy? Or is it their own inefficiency that causes them to feel like they have no control?

Finding your own inner rhythm is so important and will help you stay on target for your goals, whatever they may be. Many people think that having extra time in a day means they are lazy, however, nothing could be further from the truth. Being balanced and having extra time in the day shows how efficient you are and how much you care about the body you live in. Here is how exercise and other forms of relaxation can help you be more organized and less stressed.

Take a Walk

Heading off for a walk before, during or after work is a great way to sort out all your goals for the day while getting some fresh air. Fifteen minutes is enough, but the more you get out and do this, the longer you will want to go. Most people these days go from their home, to the car, to the office without going outside and breathing some fresh air. This is unacceptable. Having extra time to sit and smell the roses is not laziness but actually has been proven to make you more efficient during the workday. Try it and you will agree.

Try Yoga

Yoga classes are everywhere these days and they are not just for women. Take $10-$15 and join in on a class near your home or work. You will notice how all the people in your class have extremely different backgrounds, however, they all are there to find their own sanctity and regain some balance, strength and time to recharge their batteries. Stretching and strengthening the body in a rhythmic way is the perfect way to make you more efficient in everything else you do. Take a class today.

Meditate

You don’t need to go to a guru to experience proper meditation. Meditation is literally taking some time for you, to slow things down and get back on track. You can do it anywhere at anytime and like anything the more you practice the better you will become at it. I do this every morning on my paddleboard or on runs through the forest. It allows me to have control of what I wish to have happen in my life. Visit learning-meditation.com to learn more about meditation.
