Video shows car seconds before it strikes man in fatal Queens hit-and-run: NYPD

The NYPD has released surveillance video showing a vehicle that allegedly struck a pedestrian in Queens earlier this week during a fatal hit-and-run.

On April 6 at about 10:56 p.m. police responded to a 911 call of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle near 30th Road and 21st Street in Astoria, according to police.

Upon arriving, cops found a 45-year-old man — whose identity is still pending family notification — laying on the street with severe injuries on his body, cops said. Emergency personnel took the victim to Elmhurst Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

After an NYPD investigation, authorities determined that the victim was walking on the road on 21st Street when he was hit by the sedan, which was traveling southbound.

According to authorities, the vehicle fled the location southbound before officers arrived.

Police have released video of the incident showing the car seconds before the fatal hit-and-run, and described it as a silver or grey four door sedan.
