VIDEO: Watch Jam Master Jay’s son DJ on crowded train

If you’re a New Yorker, you’re probably witnessed countless subway performances while riding the train. Some sing, while others play instruments or execute dance moves that leave you in awe — or ducking for cover. You’ve seen many things during your daily commute, but you probably haven’t witnessed someone showcase their DJ skills.

This DJ just did the unthinkable when he boarded a Brooklyn-bound J train and performed an impromptu routine for the passengers.

TJ Mizell, the son of the late Jam Master Jay from Run-D.M.C., boarded the J at Delancey Street with his team. The crew set up a full-size DJ rig on the last carriage of the train and used a car battery to power all the equipment.

As the train rumbled its way back to Brooklyn and crossed the Williamsburg bridge, the 22-year-old DJ dedicated his set to Jay Z and played a mix of some of his most popular tracks.
