Before this season of “Dancing with the Stars,” we considered David Arquette to be the Goldfish crackers of people: pleasant and perfectly enjoyable, but not the sort of thing you look forward to.
However, since we’ve watched him strut his stuff on DWTS, we’ve come around on the affable actor. (Though we still can’t imagine why he’d cheat on Courtney Cox. In fact, we don’t want to imagine him sleeping with anybody at all. Sorry, Dave.) There’s something a little off about him, but it’s an endearing offness, like he got stoned one too many times and ended up permanently goofy.
So we don’t know what the DWTS audience was thinking, sending him off this week. The guy did magic tricks — oh, we’re sorry, he did illusions.
Seriously, take a look at this cha-cha. Sure, Arquette’s timing gets a little off at points, but is there even a moment when he looks like he’s not having a blast? We know DWTS isn’t a charity, but the voters really dropped the ball this week. Who do you think should have gone home in his place?
