Who is Ethan Haskell? DraftKings employee at center of daily fantasy sports controversy

For the second time in less than a month, the daily fantasy sports industry was rocked by some bad press that could eventually lead to court appearances.

DraftKings and FanDuel, the two major companies in the daily fantasy world, released statements on Monday defending their integrity after it was learned that a DraftKings employee – Ethan Haskell – inadvertently released data ahead of Week 3 in the NFL and wound up winning $350,000 from FanDuel the same week.

“Both companies have strong policies in place to ensure that employees do not misuse any information at their disposal and strictly limit access to company data to only those employees who require it to do their jobs,” a DraftKings statement said, via the New York Times. “Employees with access to this data are rigorously monitored by internal fraud control teams, and we have no evidence that anyone has misused it.”

In mid-September, U.S. Representative Frank Pallone – from New Jersey’s Sixth Congressional District – requested that the Committee on Energy & Commerce hold a hearing to review the legal status of fantasy sports.

Haskell is a dyed in the wool Boston sports fan and is living quite the life these days as he got some pimp seats at the Patriots’ season opener against the Steelers and got to go to the Kentucky Derby last May.His current role is “Content Manager” at DraftKings and he graduated from Allegheny College in 2012 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Managerial Economics.

Are we jealous? Absolutely.Haskell also gotto make the insanely doucheycommercialseen above. Who wouldn’t want to be this guy (up until Monday)?
