Will ice cubes in dryers really take out wrinkles?

There’s a life hacking video starting to float around the Web that claims you can remove wrinkles from a shirt by tossing a few ice cubes into a dryer. That sounds crazy, right? Yes, we think so, too.

JumbleJoy.com – a fun life-hacking site that claims to be the “perfect place to explore and learn new & exciting ways to make your life simple and keep you happy”, posted the video! They have several simple and fun DIY and fun fact videos ranging from “Easy DIY Fabric Softener and Dryer Sheets” to “10 Facts You Didn’t Know About PMS.”

Those life tips and facts are fun and simple but their latest video, “How to Remove Wrinkles Without an Iron” has us wondering if this can actually work.

The premise behind this idea is the steam from the ice cubes combined with the heat from the dryer will eventually smooth out the wrinkles.

Life-hacking website Lifehacker.com posted this similar hack and they added: “This trick works best if you have a couple of shirts, or maybe a shirt and a pair of slacks or pants. Jeans, heavy fabrics, or too many clothes and it won’t work.”

The video on JumbleJoy.com shows that you can rid yourself of wrinkles and use only one shirt.

YouTube user Paul O’Malley tested this easy tip and didn’t have much success. It just left his shirt wet and wrinkly Watch the video below.

While lifehacker.com claims the trick will work, you just have to try it for yourself and just make sure you have more than one item in the dryer.

If you’re really too lazy to iron your clothes, or you just don’t have access to an iron, you could go take it to the next level like this guy below:
