Winebar is a cool respite from the stresses of your day, hidden down a flight of stairs from the main Kensington stroll.
The short seasonal menu is full of highlights. Foccaccia bread is filled with tender pulled pork ($15), organic gouda, and a great kick of green chipotle sauce. A small side of heirloom tomatoes and fresh basil means you don’t need a nap after lunch.
But it’s winebar’s daily chalkboard specials — and wine selections of course — that make for a memorable meal.
Atlantic lobster bisque with minced prawns ($12) was simply amazing. I shared this with my husband but secretly wanted to gulp down whole thing.
It was also difficult to keep my hands off his corned beef brisket sandwich ($13) with creamy brie and roasted red pepper aioli. That special came with a soup or salad.
A versatile spot night or day, winebar will impress clients, partners, friends and colleagues alike.
