A Wayland woman was arrested for breaking into the Breyers ice cream plant in Framingham, but it wasn’t a hot fudge sundae she was hunting for.

Jennifer L. Coppell, 34, admitted to authorities that she and Joseph Donnell, 33, broke into the factory early Saturday morning, according to Framingham Police, the MetroWest Daily News reported.

After an alarm at the facility was triggered, police searched for intruders and found Coppell, who had a crowbar and bolt cutters in her possession.A building manager reported to policethat 20 pounds of copper were stolen.

Coppell was charged with breaking and entering, vandalizing property, possession of tools often used in burglaries and trespassing.

Her lawyer told the court that Coppell wasn’t the brains behind the scheme, and indicated that Donnell was the one who choreographed the plan, but was then able to get away. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

“I think the person in charge of this alleged crime is Mr. Donnell, who has not been caught,” her lawyer, Donna Paruti, told the judge. “She certainly doesn’t know anything about building equipment.”
