Woman charged in Tower Rd. beating

An 18-year-old woman was charged after another woman was assaulted with a piece of wood on Tower Road in Halifax yesterday.

The suspect is charged with one count of robbery with violence, one count of assault with a weapon and one count of assault.

Police said the 21-year-old victim was approached by a woman who assaulted her and took her cell phone on the 1000 block of the street.

The suspect and victim are known to each other and have been in an ongoing dispute.
