Woman killed by snow plow

CENTER MORICHES – A pickup truck with a snowplow attachment killed a Mastic Beach woman in a Center Moriches parking lot on Wednesday. Doris Metz, 64, was walking across a lot on Railroad Avenue just before 3 p.m. when she was struck by the truck driven by Edward Grundstrom, a private contractor clearing snow. Metz was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives are investigating the accident.
