Woman tries it all for Mr. Right

With women leading busy lives that entail full-time careers, it’s no wonder many don’t have time to go on dates.

In fact, according to a recent survey among Slice panellists, about 67 per cent of singles reported dating twice a year or less. So how are we expected to find our soulmate if we don’t throw ourselves out there into the dating jungle?

In Slice’s latest series, How To Find A Husband, which premieres April 23, 37-year-old presenter Sally Gray embarks on a hunt for her Mr. Right. Throughout the 10-part, hourly series, Gray challenges herself to go on 70 dates in 50 days, all to find the man she’s meant to be with.

From meeting people online to speed dating, to picking up advice from a dating doctor and visiting a psychic — there’s nothing Gray isn’t willing to do in her pursuit of finding her man. She’ll even go as far as to allow her own mother to set her up on a date.

“It’s an experiment and I hope to God it works,” says Gray in the first episode.

In the first episode we get to know Gray — a woman who, for the last 14 years, has been all about focusing on her career and now she’s ready to settle down.

Sam van Rood, a date doctor who helps people fix their love lives, is one of the people Gray counts on for advice in her quest. One of the things Rood says many people need to learn is how to not look desperate because men can smell desperation and it will send them running the other way.

Gray learns how to analyze past relationships to see what went wrong, she defines her expectations and what she want in a partner, and learns how to advertise it properly. Then she uses these lessons and puts it to the test by going on a few test dates.
