Not sure how you’re going to get to the polls thisTuesday? Zipcar is coming to the rescue with free rides for itsmembersto use on election night.

The car-sharing company, which has its corporate headquarters in Boston, is working to “#DRIVEtheVOTEby making more than 1,000 vehicles in the Boston area freefor members from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Nov. 8.

“We know our community of Zipsters are actively engaged in civic affairs and passionate about issues, but may also need quick and easy access to transportation in order to vote. We decided to do our part to #DRIVEtheVOTE by making cars free,” said Andrew Daley, vice president of marketing, in a statement. “Regardless of political affiliation or sentiment, we believe that voting is a civic duty, and we want to ensure that access to transportation isn’t a barrier to casting a ballot.”

Zipcar members can reserve those cars starting on Nov. 4. Members can reserve the cars for longer on Election Day, but only the four hours between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. will be free.

The promotion focuses on those after-work hours to ensure peoplecan “zip to the polls during the last few hours,” the company said.

Polling placesare required to beopen from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. in Massachusetts, but check your polling place to see if it’ll open its doors even earlier.
