Boston police arrested a man in Dorchester early Saturday morning, confiscating several bags of drugs and a firearm as a part of an active and ongoing investigation, authorities said.

Officers arrested Ricky Jackman, 55, of Dorchester on multiple charges, including unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and possession with intent to distribute class A and class B drugs. 

Jackman was reportedly taken into custody without incident.

Police reported that among the items seized was a loaded .38-caliber Smith & Wesson revolver, several rounds of ammunition, bags of heroin and crack cocaine, and $160 in cash.
