MBTA employee assaulted with Rolling Rock bottle

A man was arrested after assaulting an MBTA employee with a beer bottle Thursday night at Haymarket station, according to a Transit Police report published Monday.

The attacker, a 37-year-old man from Beverly named John Reddy, was reportedly harassing other passengers before the MBTA employee approached him.

“Upon approaching Reddy, Reddy threw a Rolling Rock beer bottle nearly striking the victim in the head. Reddy then shouted out that he would “Kill” the MBTA employee/victim,” The transit police wrote in a statement.

Reddy was arrested by transit police and charged with assault by means of a dangerous weapon and arraigned in Boston Municipal Court last week.
