Years later, we’re still talking about the caught-on-camera disasters that made this list. In the end, it really makes viewers at home feel a thousand times better about their own dating mishaps. After all, even the most charming and gorgeous Bachelors and Bachelorettes aren’t immune from seriously awkward smooches, painfully bad breakups and straight-up tacky behavior. Take a look…

1. Jamie Otis on Season 16
Even Chris Harrison deemed this moment “easily one of the most horrifying moments in the history of the show.” When Jamie Otis (also of “Married at First Sight” fame) scored some alone time with Bachelor Ben Flajnik, she knew it was up to her to initiate their first kiss. Her plan? Straddle him and take control. But instead of being sexy, it’s just so awkward. She starts by telling him, “When I go to bed at night I definitely, uh, you know, I think about you often and I think about the things I’d like to do with you.” Um…OK. So she puts her words into action, climbs onto Ben’s laps and starts to kiss him. Yet, instead of a passionate make-out, she can’t stop giggling. Yikes!

2. The Dueling Bachelorettes on Season 11
ABC sure knows how to get “Bachelor” fans riled up. To make headlines with last year’s Bachelorette, the showrunners opted to have Bachelorettes Kaitlyn Bristowe and Britt Nilsson compete for the role in the first episode. They had to woo enough guys to get the votes to be that season’s leading lady. Kaitlyn won, and weeks later she was engaged to Shawn Booth. Of course, during that time she had plenty of dating drama, like sleeping with Nick Viall weeks before the fantasy suite dates. Props to her for being honest and open about sex like a normal person.

3. Shawntel Newton on Season 15
During hometown dates, the contestants are encouraged to show the Bachelor a part of their real life. For Shawntel, she decided it was Take Brad To Work day, which wouldn’t be so weird, except that her job was as a funeral director. Not everyone is freaked out by death, and seeing that she followed in her family’s business, she clearly isn’t. However, Brad was creeped out. She even had him get on the table where they embalm the bodies. That week, he ended things and she was sent home.

4. Jonathan “The Weatherman” Novack on “The Bachelorette” Season 6
If you’re so scared to kiss a woman that you start crying just thinking about it, odds are that she’s not the woman for you. And that is precisely what happened to The Weatherman, aka Jonathan Novack, on Ali Fedotowksy’s season of “The Bachelorette.” On this particular group date, Ali and the guys were cast in a Barenaked Ladies music video. Yes, that really happened. The guys compared scripts, and Jonathan’s scene included a passionate kiss with sexy librarian Ali. Instead of being pumped about it, he freaked out. Ali even commented on how nervous he was. “The scene with Jonathan in the library started off very awkward. He was shaking, he was literally physically shaking. And I was just like, oh it’s fine, it’s OK. And I’m thinking I’m not sure if I’m ready to kiss Jonathan.” As the cameras rolled, Jonathan choked and kissed Ali’s neck! And as the other dudes watched and snickered, there was just no coming back from that fail.

5. Dave Good on “The Bachelorette” Season 5
If you want to kiss a gal, don’t neg her. Dave Good (or should we call him Dave BAD) scored the first impression rose from Jillian Hrrris. But that good first impression didn’t last long. His aggressive behavior was not a turn-on. So when he thought he had the go-ahead to initiate a kiss, he was shocked and pissed when Jillian turned her cheek to reject him. His response was even more proof of his immature behavior. “I would never have gone in for a kiss right now if I didn’t feel everyone else hasn’t already kissed you,” he said. Points to Jillian for standing up for herself by countering, “I have not kissed 12 dudes, there was a date where we had to act kissing but those were not real kisses, I’m not that girl.” Later on, she elaborated on her feelings, telling the cameras that she didn’t feel like Dave respected her.

6. Chantal O’Brien on Season 15
Brad is back for the second time on this list, this time with Chantal who had the slap heard around the world when she made her limo exit on the first night. As she walked up to introduce herself, she tells Brad she had something for him on behalf of every woman in America. Then, SLAP! Her palm meets his cheek. Surprisingly, he wasn’t insulted. He laughed it off, said he liked her and that she had a good hit.

7. Bentley Williams on Season 7
This goes beyond awkward and was just plain evil. Bentley Williams had hoped the Bachelorette would be Emily Maynard, who had recently called off her engagement to Brad. Instead, he was greeted by Ashley Hebert, who instantly fell for him. He tried to play her, acting like the feelings were mutual. So when he abruptly left mid-season, Ashley was shocked and hurt. “I cannot believe I wasted so much time on Bentley,” she told the cameras. “He’s such a player. He disrespected me to the core and I don’t understand what I did to deserve this. Bentley, if you’re watching this, f–k you, I’m done with you.” Cue JP, and the rest is history for the Rosenbaums!

8. Robyn Howard on Season 17
The best part of the premiere episodes are the limo exits. What quirky things will the contestants do to get the Bachelor’s attention? For Robyn Howard, she thought the combination of a fancy gown, heels and a backflip would spark Sean’s interest. Instead, she face-planted. Literally, she wiped out. Like any respectable woman, she pulled herself back up, but that first impression was made.

9. Basically ALL of Season 18
Two words: Juan Pablo. Truly the worst Bachelor in the show’s 20 seasons. Harrison agrees. “He gave them a lot of reasons to [hate him],” he said. A few specifics? Slut-shaming Clare after a naughty rendezvous at 4 a.m. in Vietnam. Everything seemed fine post-hook-up, until the rose ceremony. Juan Pablo took Clare aside to tell her he regrets what happened because it was unfair to the other women and because he has a daughter. Jerk. And then during their finale one-on-one date, Clare saw Juan Pablo for who he really was when he whispered an obscene comment to her in her ear. You dodged a bullet there, Clare!
