Season two of the Starz's romance-driven period drama "Outlander" premieres April 9 at 9 p.m. The sereies (loosely-ish) based on The New York Times' best-selling novels by Diana Gabaldon, follows Claire Randall Fraser (Caitriona Balfe) as she travels through time from 1946 to 1743. She leaves behind loving husband Frank Randall (Tobias Menzies), but ends up falling head-over-heels with dreamy Scottish soldier, Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan).
Meanwhile, they also have to dodge Frank’s ancestor, Jack Randall (also played by Menzies), the villainous English knight who ends up capturing and horrifically torturing Jamie in the season's final episodes.
File this under: it's complicated.
