The long grey ribbed knit dress that opened Wes Gordon’s show is the kind you’d imagine Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy wearing to run errands during a blistering freeze — like the one we’re experiencing — and still look cozy and chic. The models’ low-slung buns helped paint the picture. Gordon designs for a well-heeled client, and this season he served her sexy minimalist looks in high-end fabrics (silk-y cashmere columns, minks galore and even jeans spun from finer Japanese denim). Orange and brown retro printed minis and chiffon blouses hinted at the ’70s but, there was enough variety — cocktail dresses with fierce plunging necklines and ethereal lace columns — that kept it feeling fresh.
