Odell Beckham had been after the officials earlier this week, a drum that he’s banged more than once this year. But on Thursday, the New York Giants wide receiver turned his attention to a media member who happens to be one of the most notorious names in sports talk.

Skip Bayless lashed out at Beckham and the Giants on Thursday, both on his show Undisputed on Fox Sports 1 and via social media. Bayless, a former Cowboys beat reporter who still has a penchant for sticking up for the team he once covered, pulled no punches in his critique of Big Blue.

The Giants host the Cowboys on Sunday night.

On his show, which he co-hosts with former NFL star Shannon Sharpe, Bayless went after Beckham.

“The New York Football Giants are an insufferable bunch of whiners and complainers and pouters led by Odell Beckham Jr,” Bayless said on Undisputed.

He went on to mock the nickname for Dallas given by opposing fans – “The Cryboys”- and asked “Why not the New York Cry-ants?” when it comes to the Giants. Bayless then went on the call Beckham a “prima donna” and “increasingly, mentally soft.”

Yikes.

Beckham responded via Twitter (see above):

Keep my name out ur mouth foo, I have a phone number, we kno plenty of mutual people. U got somethin to say u can call me. U scary bruh.”

A few minutes later, Beckham apparently was able to take a step back and exhale, tweeting:

“Lord thank u for removing my negative engergy and forgive me for my thoughts, Positivity provides positive actions…”

Beckham is the Giants leading receiver despite a tumultuous year, having topped 1,000 yards for the third time in his three NFL seasons. He appears to be a lock for the Pro Bowl.

Bayless joined Fox Sports 1 from rival ESPN and has successfully helped the relatively new channel with increased ratings on the opinion show.
