A woman jogging along the East River on Wednesday was dragged by her hair before being raped and robbed, police said.

The 26-year-old victim was running at about 7:30 p.m. in East River Park near Cherry Street in downtown Manhattan when the suspect, who was on a bicycle, approached her and motioned for her to be quiet, cops said.

Police say the woman then turned around and started to run in the opposite direction when the suspect grabbed her hair, put his arm around her throat and pulled her into the amphitheater area where he raped her before fleeing.

The victim was taken to Beth Israel Hospital where she was treated and released.

NYPD have released video footage of the suspect, who is believed to be in his 20s, using the victim's credit card in a deli.
