Homecoming queen killed by flood in Texas

The Texas town of Devine is mourning the death of high school homecoming queen, Alyssa Ramirez, who drowned in the massive floods that overtook some parts of Texas over Memorial Day weekend.

Ramirez was reportedly on her way home from prom when she was caught and swept away by a flood.

Ramirez was described by loved ones as popular student who was a star athlete at Devine high school.

“She’s just a very sweet, beautiful soul, just radiant,” Monica Taylor, a teacher of Ramirez’s told USA Today.

Before leaving her prom, Ramirez tweeted “The fact that we may be stuck in SA overnight bc rain is so sad.”

Ramirez reportedly decided to make the drive and was caught in a flash flood about two miles away from home.
