AL QAEDA 'PRINCE' KILLED

Number two in command of Al Qaeda's arm in the Arab Peninsula, and former private secretary to Osama Bin Laden, Nasir al-Wuhayshi was killed in a U.S. drone strike on Yemen. He was such a big cheese that the U.S. State Department had offered a $10m bounty for his capture, reports the BBC

FORMER EGYPT PRESIDENT JAILED

Mohamed Morsi, the Islamist leader who was the country's first democratically-elected president, was sentenced to life in jail over spying charges, reports The Guardian. He's also expected to be sentenced today over a mass jail break in 2011.

PEOPLE WENT CRAZY FOR LEGO CAKE 

A London family bakery made an appeal for calm after being overwhelmed with requests for a wedding cake made with edible Lego bricks, says The Independent. After a photo of the cake got 69,000 shares on Facebook, Cakes by SJ, which doesn't even have a shop, had to tell disappointed AFOLs (Adult Fans of Lego) worldwide that they can't deliver outside South East London. 

DADS AS GOOD AS MOMS

A new global report suggests fathers "biologically hard-wired to provide care, just as mothers are" and that fathers and kids who spend time together are happier and healthier. Time for a change, then, as according to The Huffington Post, women spend between two and ten times more hours looking after their children than men do.
