Before you surfaced this morning, leaders agreed a Ukraine ceasefire. We mourned the deaths of Bob Simon and three North Carolina students.

As South Korea jailed a horrible boss daughter, North Korea gave citizens 300 new mottos.

A ceasefirefor eastern Ukraine was agreed after 16-hour all-night peace summit between leaders of Russia, Ukraine, France and Germany. There are a few unresolved issues but overall the talks offered hope for an end to the fighting in the region between Ukrainian troops and separatist fighters.

Three murdered students were mourned

Thousands gathered to pay tribute to three North Carolina students who were gunned down by their neighbor. The gunman's wife said the shooting was over a parking dispute rather than a hate crime.

Tributes were paid to Bob Simon

Prominent news journalists paid tribute after veteran CBS news reporter was killed in a car crash in Manhattan. Simon had 27 Emmys and had reported on major news stories at home and wars abroad, and even survived time in an Iraqi jail during his five-decade career.

Korean Air's 'nut rage' boss was jailed

The daughter of Korean Air's chairman who threw a tantrum after being served macadamia nuts in a bag rather than a dish was sentenced to a year in prison. As well as embarassing herself by abusing her position at the company, she violated aviation law by ordering the plane return to its gate so the flight crew chief could be thrown off.

North Korea revealed new slogans for its 70th anniversary

The regime's newspaper revealed 300 new political slogans designed to motivate its people. The new mottos call for citizens to do everything from innihilate the enemy, get into industrial mushroom farming and design cooler school uniforms.
