A 5-year-old Delaware Country boy died after being struck by lightning while on vacation with his family.

The boy went into cardiac arrest and was rushed to Sentara Princess Anne Hospital in Virginia Beach around 4 p.m., Pix11 reported. Little suffered from traumatic burns and died in the hospital around 6 p.m. Ten percent of people struck by lightning are killed each year, the National Weather Service estimates.
