Ryan Murphy has done it again. The famous producer seems to be creating hit after hit for television, and he is not slowing down. The popular first responder drama 911 is back, and fans are already eagerly awaiting the show’s premiere.  “With a bold concept, award-winning stars and flawless execution, Ryan, Brad and Tim have done it again,” chairmen and CEOs of the Fox Television Group Gary Newman and Dana Walden said in a statement. “They have tapped into the cultural zeitgeist and reimagined the procedural as only they could, bringing it to life with a dream team of actors led by Angela, Peter and Connie. This is storytelling at its best and we’re so pleased that it’s resonated with our audience. Murphy has talked about the 911 universe expanding in season 2, he told EW: ” We’re going to build out that 9-1-1 world the way we did the first-responder world, so you’ll see some new stars.” According to Digital Spy season 2 may have very different storylines then its predecessor. The first season would deal with varying disasters within an episode, whereas the second season is rumored to deal with one disaster that links everyone together throughout the whole season. Or possibly the first two episodes.

Most of the cast will be returning including Angela Bassett, Peter Krause, Kenneth Choi, and Rockmund Dunbar. Jennifer Love Hewitt will also be joining the cast and taking the place of Connie Britton’s role as the 911 operator. Ryan Murphy talked publicly about trying to get Connie Britton back on board for season 2. “Connie had just come off Nashville, and she didn’t want to do another show right away.” says Murphy who signed Britton on for a one-season deal. However, with the show’s success, Murphy may convince Britton to stay on for another season after all “we’re talking about her coming back in some capacity to season two if we can make her deal work.

911 season 2 release date

911 Season 2 will make its debut on a Sunday, September 23 after an NFL on Fox doubleheader. The time is going to be determined on when the football game ends. The two-hour premiere will then continue for its second hour on Monday, September 24 at 9 p.m. E.T. which will be the show’s usual time from then on.
