Boston Winterand its 11,000-square-foot skating rink have finally arrived downtown. The Berkshire Bank-presented installation is the first in Mayor Walsh’s plan to jazz up City Hill Plaza and also includes a pop-up holiday market, a Vinopolis wine tasting experience, a chocolate tour featuring Taza, a Santa photo opp and a 20-foot-tall pedal-powered light-up Christmas tree. Aski lodge-inspired beer hall and a traditional Bavarian Village, serving brats, pretzels, fondue and mulled wine, also opened doors — providing snacks, sweets and booze to hungry skaters. In short, it’s pretty amazing.
We stopped by opening night on Dec. 7 for the official ribbon cutting and first ring around the rink. Check it out yourself through the remainder of the holiday season.
