Boston police seek suspect in Hyde Park sexual assault

Authorities are looking for a man they say sexually assaulted and robbed a woman in a secluded area of Hyde Park.

Just after midnight on Wednesday morning, officers responded to a call of a sexual assault near the corner of Cummins Highway and Rosewood Street, police reported.

At the scene, authorities spoke to a woman who said she was walking home when a man grabbed her, forced her into a secluded area and sexually assaulted her, officials said. She added that the man demanded money and emptied her wallet after the assault.

Police described the suspect as a black man who was approximately 6-foot-1 with a thin build. He was last seen in a dark green hoodie and dark pants, driving anewer model red car.

The Boston Police Sexual Assault Unit was actively investigating the incident, authorities said. Anyone with any information should call detectives directly at 617-343-4400.
