East Boston man charged for illegal weapons cache, IED’s

An East Boston man was ordered held on $100,000 bail after police discovered his extensive and illegal weapon collection, complete with guns and expolosives.

Police and the Bomb Squad went knocking on Nicholas Marchesi’s door on Eutaw Street on Friday, armed with a search warrant. Police said they found several rifles, handguns, ammunition, drugs and two homemade BB-filled improvised explosive devices.

Marchesi’s lawyer asked the judge for a lesser bail set between $1,000 and $5,000, claiming that many of the guns would prove to be antiques or BB guns. According to Universal Hub, his mother and sister told the judge that they would not post a bail that high until he could get into a heroin addiction treatment center.
