Instagram has already given us the glimpse of peaking into our favorite musician's personal lives. Now, they've launched @music, an account that will showcase new and established artists. New content will be added to the site six times a week and will be a mixture of 15-second music lessons and short profiles of emerging artists.
"We're looking to break music artists," Instagram music editor Alex Suskind tells Buzzfeed.“One of the things we’re focusing on is emerging and unsigned talent who are using the platform to share their music and their stories in a unique way.”
Musicians aren't the only people who will be featured on the account; people who work in all aspects of the industry will be featured as well. "Music is a huge part of all of our lives here at Instagram. It’s a passion of ours, and we know it’s a passion of yours. So follow along at @music –– we think you’ll discover something new," Instagram founder Kevin Systrom says.
