The long-awaited “Twin Peaks” revival doesn’t air until May 21 on Showtime, but in the meantime we’re being teasedwith 30-second promos that don’t really do much more than that. Related: Watch: New ‘Twin Peaks’ trailer teaser trailer is really something A 32-second spot released in January showed us present-day Dale Cooper (without revealing anything about his, er, mental state) and panned over nature shots of Pacific Northwest fog and forest for ambience. ‘Twin Peaks’ gets a damn fine release date of May 21 Today, two new teasers dropped. The first, below, opens with the final, chilling shot of the “Twin Peaks” Season 2 finale (major spoiler, do not watch if you haven’t seen it yet) followed by the iconic line “It is happening again?” Does that imply that Coop 25-years-later is still touched? Or does it simply mean that the cycle continues with a new set of victims?

In the second video, we see the classic image of Laura Palmer’s body as it’s being unwrapped from its plastic sheath, followed by a zoom-in on her high school yearbook picture, this time taped up on a wall. And…Nothing is Illuminated. Or could it be that…wait for it…these teasers are not what they seem?!

We won’t know anything until May 21, and it’s likely that Season 3 will leave us with more mysteries than answers, as is the Lynchian way.
In the meantime, on March 1 Showtime is airing Lynch’s “Twin Peaks” prequel film“Fire Walk with Me,”which sheds light on the world of Laura Palmer, pre-murder. And of course, Seasons 1 and 2 of the show are available to stream on Netflix and Amazon Prime. Sweet dreams! That hopefully don’t involve any red velvet curtains or slow-talking midgets.
